The Spy is the ninth class available in normal gameplay, who wields the Revolver, the Sapper, an Invis Watch, a Disguise Kit, and the Knife. While weak in long and medium-range, the Spy is best in sneaky close-range encounters. His knife can be used to backstab opponents, resulting in an instant-kill from any health (besides Ubercharge). The Spy requires a difficult play style, lingering in corners and waiting for the right moment to strike. With a small amount of health, he can sustain a very small amount of damage. Group encounters are undesirable when playing as the Spy.

The Spy is voiced by Dennis Bateman.

Primary Weapons

The default primary weapon for the Spy.
Weapon Description
Tranq.png
Tranquilizer
An optional replacement for the Revolver, the Tranquilizer shoots a single dart that slows down and slightly injures enemies on hit.

Secondary Weapons

Sapper.png
Sapper
The default sapper for the Spy. Place on enemy buildings to disable them and lower their health over time, eventually destroy them if left unattended. Alerts the engineer that owns the buildings, and can be removed with two wrench hits.

Melees

The default melee weapon for the Spy. Sneak up behind enemies and back-stab them for an instant kill.

PDAs

Disguise Kit
The default PDA for the Spy. Allows you to disguise as members of your own and the enemy team. Classes selected when they are not occupied results in a random name being chosen from that team.

Invis Watches

Invis Watch
The default Invis Watch for the Spy. Allows you to go invisible, appearing only to teammates. Can be used to sneak behind enemy lines.
